Lesson: Family

Lesson Overview: Students learned about family members and their relationships to one another. They also learned about the possessive apostrophe and how to use it in a sentence. The objectives were for students to name the members of a family and use the possessive apostrophe in a sentence.

Naming family members

Lesson: Sports

Lesson Overview: Students learned about the names of sports and how to express their likes and dislikes to explain which sports they enjoy. The objectives were naming Sports, asking questions using “Do you..?” and expressing likes and dislikes.

Answering a checklist about sports that they like and don't like by writing "yes" or "no" under the corresponding boxes.

Lesson: Omar Abdulrahman

Lesson Overview: Students learned about the famous football player “Omar Abdulrahman” and what he does as a part of his routine. The main focus of the lesson was for students to complete sentences using the present simple tense and recognize when to add “s” to present tense verbs.

Lesson: Feelings

Lesson Overview: Students learned about different feelings and what situations bring upon each feeling. In addition, they practiced sharing situations in which they felt a particular way. The main objectives were for the students to be able to Identify feelings by the end of the lesson, determine the feeling from the situation, and differentiate between different feelings, such as happy, sad, sleepy, angry, and hungry.

Lesson: Favourite Things

Lesson Overview: The lesson focused on the topic of favourites. Students learned about the word “favourites” and the various topics in which they can form sentences on. The main objectives included students naming and describing their favourite things such as colours, people, sports, and days of the week.

Lesson: The UAE Desert
The UAE Desert

Lesson Overview: Students learned about the different parts of the desert (sand, tree, camel, fox, snake, goat), and they were asked to label them. They looked at linking verbs (is, are) and used them to talk about the parts of the desert. The main outcomes were to be able to label the parts of a desert and to determine the correct linking verb (is, are).

Lesson: Desert Animals
Desert Animals

Lesson Overview: The focus of the lesson was the identification of the UAE desert animals (camels, foxes, oryxes). Students looked at facts about each animal. As for language usage, students also learned to recognize the difference between using “They” and “It’ when talking about a group of animals, and when talking about one animal. The objectives were to identify desert animals, create an animal fact file, and to determine when to use “It” and They” in a sentence.

Lesson: Ghaf Tree

Lesson Overview: The lesson focused on the ghaf tree. Students learned about the different parts of the tree (leaves, trunk, roots, fruits), and how to describe them using colour and size (tall, short, long, green, brown). The aim was for students to be able to identify the different parts of the ghaf tree, and be able to describe the ghaf tree.

Lesson: Weather

Lesson Overview: Students explored the different types of weather (Dry, rainy, hot, cold, sunny, windy). They were asked to put this knowledge into action by creating weather reports where they had to talk about the weather each day of the week. The lesson objectives were to describe the weather and create a weather report.

Lesson: Favourite Animals

Lesson Overview: The aim of the lesson was for learners to be able to describe animals by stating simple facts about them. Students practiced talking about animals by reporting about their favourite animals and sharing a few details about the animal, such as where it lives, how it looks like, and what it eats. The lesson objectives were to explore animal facts, report facts about favourite animals, and answer “wh” questions.
